GETTING TO KNOW THE POET
Tell us a little bit about yourself, Anakin.
I'm 43 years of age born and raised in Chattanooga Tennessee and most of my life I love to research different things and learn something every day. I moved to Madison GA when I was mid-teen
went through trials and tribulation in my personal but not important I live there for awhile and move back to Chattanooga in 1985. I discovered and started the Aim Center. In the 1997 it helps people like myself to coup with my mental illness and live knowing I have to be able learn more about myself.
Over the years i work on my poetry and stories at the time and live there till I meet my adopted mother Lottie and brother Jimmy in 2004 with my new family, I was happy and still is I travel to Chickamauga and live off and on for years. I love classical music, working towards the future to be a conductor as a career but got along way to go but for now focusing on my works to be known this is a short biography of the struggling dark master. Hopefully soon I'll be known. It’s not a easy task.
What inspires you to write poetry?
what inspires me to write poetry, from my personal experiences in life lessons. My fight with mental illness that haunts my words of wisdom. The inspiration started with the raven when I was nine years of age. I love the art of how Poe manipulate his words as I was fascinated by that and started to write the darkest blend of my craft, but what keeps me, I learn from poets to better myself to study works of struggling masters that are trying to get out there. Poe and Charles Baudelaire and the great Arthur Rimbaud Acturall made me a better poet
When people read your poetry, what is it that you would like or hope they understand about you through your words?
My torture words of creativity hoping that people will learn and understand the struggling life of mine. My pen is the tool and my words are the isolation that I speak in terms that my life is not a box of chocolates. I'm the creator that is slowly developing scriptures of poetic psalms, I hope people will see the nature of my poems and stories as a revolutionary nightmare that their reaction I hope people will see i’m mean business when i write and hope they will enjoy my works, but everyone has their own ways how they feel. I’m a serious writer. Very devoted to my cause. It’s in my blood.
POETRY BY ANAKIN RAVENSKRAFT
Dark Grass
By ravenskraft
Within the soil is a dark mist
And the green is all gone
Forbidden like a haunted bliss
The blackness of the soil as
The dead calls out
Eating away the souls that walk on the grass
The spirits grasp and to be fed
As mother nature no longer has control
Humanity is now doomed
Swallowed by the grass of the dark gloom
The mist arose to feast on the wicked
But not so easy on the innocent as well
So time will very much tell
Of how the world ends
This is how the grass grows
This is how the grass grows
Only to feast in the door of death’s shore
The grassy mist will claim his victims
Within the depths of hell itself

Echo Side
By Ravenskraft
Within the gates of limbo
Souls are buried deep in the streams of pain
As it constantly pouring blood rain
Every drop it screams
The sounds of echoes
Being cast in hell forbidden it seems
Earn the resting place in luicfier’s echo side
Nothing left but decayed
burning spirits
Eating each other scorn and betrayed
When the wagons come would you let me on
To meet my mother
The echoes call upon me to burn
On the side where
My body lay
As heaven forgotton me
I suffer with my poet soul
In eternal rest

THE POETS FAVORITE POEM
Poet Anakin Ravenskraft was asked to share one of his favorite poems and he chose to share, A Carcass by Charles Baudelaire. Here is whyWhat is it about, A Carcass by Charles Baudelaire, that makes it your favorite poem?
This poem is the most elightening and personal and has the passionate flow of dark pleasure as he explain the foulness of a women’s grasp. I appreciate the creatvity of the master’s bold nature.
A carcass is Baudelaire best piece talking about the stinking of a women’s decay and the foul nature of how everything come together. To me I see death and decay in a deceased. As the poem goes on you would enjoy the madness within Baudelaire. He’s one of my favorites because his works are revolutionary.
He takes his extreme and blend.
I just want to share this. We all share the glimpse of Baudelaire. He’s one of the kindle poet that is mostly forgotton but struggling to keep a name. He will always be the great of his time but Poes honesty at such a time when mental illness carried such harsh consequences was quite courageous but honesty at such a time when poetry carried the plague of harshly was quite conragous. We need to remember Baudelaire not as a poet but a master storyteller of his time.
