“Alone In The Mist” by Jesse Batista

Walking past the boneyard

On this All Hallows’ Eve

Startled, caught off guard

A friend has something up their sleeve

A rustle in the distance

Full moon shown bright

Specters are non-existence

Chills in the air this night

Safety in numbers

Disappear one by one

The dead woke from slumbers

Or friends having fun

Left alone in the mist

thick and profuse

stop, you insist

insanity on the loose

Circling, swirling, back to the wall

Wind whips through your soul

On your knees you fall

Crouched in the corner

Drenched in sweat from fear

Manifestation of the damned

Death draws near

Grotesque in form

From the other side

They advance in swarm

Those who have died

They rip at the flesh

dragged to the stones

you fight and thresh

but, Your reduced to bones

thrown in a hole

buried alive

Imagination takes control

More horrors to contrive.

POEM #2

By R.L. Chambers

Ten years to the day,
It's been building,
All this rage,
And all this hate,
This fucking demon,
Inside me,
It's been screaming,
For its release,
And today,
I will set it free.

Ten years to this day,
I had you tied up,
To a tree,
A knife in hand,
Ready to make you bleed,
But a passerbyer,
Had to see,
Called the cops,
I had to choose,
To stay or to flee.

Ten years to this day,
I was locked up,
Because of you,
My one loose end,
That I had to cut,
But every night,
I could see,
Your blood and guts,
And I knew I'd get you,
And start my spree.

Ten years to this day,
Three-thousand, six-hundred and fifty days,
That's how long my dream,
Had to wait,
But now where back here,
And there will be no heros this time,
No one to save you,
Or to lock me up,
You're bound and gagged,
And I'm full of glee.

Ten years to this day,
The wait is finally over,
The moon will shine red,
With your blood,
I carve a line,
Into your throat,
And enjoy the sounds,
Of your life ending,
A loose end tied,
Such a sight to see.

POEM #3

All Hallow’s Eve by Ardent Rose
 (c) 10/2018

Cauldrons bubble a witches brew
Werewolves scout meat to chew
Vampires awake to take flight
In search of a sweet one to bite
Spooky ghouls rise from their graves
This special night their souls to save
Ghouls and goblins trick the young
Their treat filled traps will be sprung
All Hallow’s Eve by moonlight
Scary screams of delight
In the darkest corners shadows disguise
The danger lurking in surprise
Laughing cackles carried by the wind
Tonight death stalks life to end
Be wary of friend or foe
The reaper, no one knows

POEM #4

By Mikey Anderson

The Ghouls are here the Ghouls are there The Ghouls are everywhere

I won’t run that’s no fun I’ll shoot them with my fucking gun

If that don’t work I’ll pull my knife with a jerk and then stab them in the eye with a smirk

They will fucking learn I won’t be concerned I’ll cut them from stem to stern.

A figure in grain by Chris Batista

A figure in the grain
Short and stout
Clock strikes the midnight hour
It’s out and about

Maybe in my dream
Possibly in my mind
Leaving a trail of blood
Are we two intertwined

Bodies in the closet
A few under the bed
No where else to deposit
What to do with the dead

A reflection in the window
Catches my eye
It’s lurking behind me
Is it my turn to die

A strange twist of fate
The figure’s no longer creeping
Have I woken from the nightmare
Was I really sleeping.

POEM #6

Return to silence
by Mark Deloy

Hate wrapped pain led me to this broken place
Filling my lungs with the secret scent of fear
Looking down at a body I once worshipped
Now broken and cold, no light or fire

You fled our love
Like a hated sun
No warmth or comfort
No light to guide me home

The blade stole your future
Condemning our past
In the back of my mind
Like forgotten cemetery plots
In a boneyard of loss

I kneel by your side
Like so many times before
And take your wilted hand
In my own as I cry

I promise you forever
As I rise to falling rain
And end the pain you left me with
My last breath speaking your cursed name.

POEM #7

By Mfalme Wangozi

Beating on the soul of the earth
The heartbeat of the sea
Listen carefully you will hear
When love was cold
To the ways of the old
Am all ears
Cock welcoming day
Crickets celebrating night
Hoping but not expecting
Lost in uncertainty
All this years
You are finally home
Through the raging storm
Tuck away your fears
Joyful day of reckon
A brand new dawn
Wipe away your tears
With curtains of the wind
Revealing forbidden wishes
To the whispers of time
Am all ears

POEM #8

DEATH'S CELEBRATION by Steven Evans

The skies above me grow dark and gray
Forewarning me, the world I live in is about to change
I walk on the forgotten souls who died in vane
Walking a tightrope between psychotic and sane
No one knows the horrors I've seen
The dangers I've faced; my hands aren't clean
Blood stains my existence; leaving no hope of salvation
My glory; my pleasure lies in death's celebration
Day after day, I walk this barren landscape
Feeding off the bones of those who failed to escape
HELL! I fear not the end
Death... has become my only friend
So, save your prophecies and ominous signs
My life, I live by my own design

The skies above me grow dark and gray
I'll survive to live... another day

POEM #9

By Francis Leggit

A demon festers in your mind,
A soul without a name,
A mission to destroy all light,
Destruction is his game.
Every day begins the same,
A struggle to be free,
Your nightmare just beginning with,
His rule of tyranny.
A voice inside your head begins
to tell you that you’re strong,
It’s time to bring the demon down,
And prove that you belong.
The demon screams out from your soul,
To prove he can’t be tamed,
The only way to break my grasp is
to bellow out my name.
Puffing out your chest with pride,
The fight for life is now,
To end his rule, regain control,
Refuse to beg or bow.
Demon I call out to you,
It’s time to end oppression,
For now I know your secret,
Your name is Depression.

POEM #10

By James E Brewer

I'm woken by the sounds in the night air.

The smell of death and decay is everywhere.

I look down only to see.

That my body has been bound, tied to a tree.

I cry out into the night, calling for help.

I'm alone in the darkness. No one here but myself.

I fidget with the knot, hoping to get free.

No luck at all with the rope, so I sit in misery.

The quiet has provoked my madness, my mind is playing tricks.

My nerves are on edge to point of making me sick.

Questions come to mind to solve this dilemma.

But no answers reveal themselves no matter how hard I want them.

I decide to give up. There is no use fighting.

All I'm doing is wearing myself out, struggling against my bindings.

As I sit quietly I start to hear a rustling from the bushes.

'Help!’ I cry out. No response. I try several times but it's all useless.

I watch carefully through the trees.

Hopefully it's not a bear coming to eat me.

Through the darkness I see a shadow in the mist.

It's tall as a person. My freedom is eminent.

The shadows steps forward, a person steps into the light.

At first I was relieved but now I have a feeling something isn't right.

'Can you help me?’ but they don't say a thing

All I hear is grunts.  And I smell a putrid stink.

The figure stepped from the darkness only to reveal.

The living dead walks amongst us, I can't believe this is real.

His flesh is rotten, hanging from his bones.

His eyes fixed upon me but he wasn't alone.

More of them emerge into the light, hunger in eyes.

In that moment I realize today will I die.

They surround me, arms reaching for my flesh.

The last smell remains is the stench on their breath.

One tears open my stomach, spilling out my insides.

Others grabbing for limbs, no one can hear my cries.

The pain is unimaginable, as they feast on my remains.

There is nothing I can as the tears start to rain.

I beg for death but something is keeping me alive.

The hell that is enjoying my torment won't let me die.

My limbs are gone, in the mouths of the deceased.

The flesh torn and shredded, there is barely anything left of me.

My conscience drifts off, hoping to see.

An end to this hell, a peaceful eternity.

As I'm lying there, my binds are let free.

I open my eyes to see who released me.

I see then end of a barrel and then a flash of light.

Finally an end to this horror, my serenity from this night.

I awaken in my bed, drenched in sweat.

A nightmare all to real, from which I won't forget.

I wipe my face and lay there in the dark.

Trying to calm my nerves and the beating in my heart.

Madness fuels the insanity of a nightmare's screams!

Dance in the darkness on this Halloween!

POEM #11

The Lost by Mathew Ballantyne

The night crept upon us like a python in search of prey
Darkness melting light into the hopeless loathing grey
This forest feels a tomb and we the corpse sent to the grave
Our eyes have left us helplessly abandoned & ashamed
Our fear become a penance, our nightmare spoken true
The deepness of this dark shall swallow me & strangle you
For our sins we must now pay,
the devil will have his due
Demons sent from hell below  to drag us to our doom
Torture claws scrape & scratch upon the stoney ground
Echo unimaginable, horrific dreadful sound
Blood running dark & cold as death in sunken veins
As rats scurry fast & fevered down dirty sewer drains
Spiders dangle in venom laced
webs to catch our face
Drop down to sink a fang in skins searing burning pain
Suddenly will we stumble stagger falling through the scrub
Catching on the thorny spikes that break the skin & draw the blood
And far off in the distance the beast will catch this scent
That carries from our bleeding skin across the cold night air
And when the beast has the smell laced within its nose
The hunt shall start in earnest
and little will we know
That once the creature tracks us down & finds us in our state
Little will we see of it until it's far too late
Though one will die unexpectedly, screaming their last breath
The other will be forced to watch knowing that they are next.

Demon scrolls by Sebastian Andrews

Blood written scrolls
And faceless apparitions
Sinister specters
Bring soulless acquisitions
No threats no coercion
A promise twill be done
No excuse no escape
On this night the tale was spun
On this last of Hallows Eve
They’ll celebrate the dead
There will be no reprieve
On your lives they will tread
There will be a bountiful feast
In honor of this day
In adoration of The Beast
Your flesh they tear away
Picking at their teeth
When all is said and done
Man will bequeath
On the demons shines the sun

POEM #13

Vampyre’s Prayer of Death Part I by Kasey Hill

The blood pools around me

In crimson shades of bliss

The knife shredded the skin

I offer a token

Of a simple kiss

I plunge my hand in

Cutting my knuckles and wrist

I grab the heart

Still beating

I yank and pry and twist

As they lay screaming

In their own pool of blood

A heart is what I need

I breathe in the smell

Of copper

I taste the life essence

On my fingers

So bittersweet

I smile as they gasp

Their final breath

They gurgle as the blood

Chokes their airway

I place the treasure

On my offering plate

It still beats

It still offers life

I walk to the bubbling cauldron

And lift the plate

High above

I taste a piece of it;

Savory and lustful

I toss the remnant of life

Into the heated liquid

A puff of smoke released

Lightning and thunder

Fill the sky

A bolt strikes the pot

As I slice my hand

Offering my own essence

To mingle

The potion is done

What is left and dried away

I lift in a ladle to my lips

Breathe in

And drink

Vampyre’s Prayer of Death Part II by Kasey Hill

The liquid

Slid down my throat

Searing and cold

All the same

I tip the ladle

To its last drop

It flows into my mouth

And down my throat

I smile

A blood lust grin

I close my eyes

And lift my head upwards

The warmth rushes

Through my body

I’m jerked to my knees

As a cold, icy grip

Replaces the warmth

I feel my body contort

Agony befalls me

The icy grip of death

Flows through my veins

I can hear the heartbeat

Of the one I offered

Beat alongside of mine

Mine slows As the other grows

In intensity and rapidness

I clutch at my chest

Tearing my dress open

My breasts revealed

Only to the moonlight

The rise and fall

Of each tormented breath

The beat of my heart

Nearly bursting through

My cavity

Each double thump

I can see it imprinting

My skin

I fall to the ground

And convulse

My skin turns blue

From the pale,

Lifeless look

It once had

I gasp and gasp

Each breath burning my lungs

No oxygen

A fish out of water

I can only think now

As death descends

Vampyre’s Prayer of Death Part III
by Kasey Hill

Hail o fateful slumber of change

Winter’s barren lands of waste

Death be quickened

On thy heels

As I lay in bed

In twilight’s grace

Awakened in

The blood of fire

Death forgive

My forging power

Changing thought

And will perceived

Guiding darkness

Through womb conceived

Light is dawning

As I breach

And immortal death

Is close in reach

Fateful hour

Drawing near

Rotting soul

Inside with fear

Resting peaceful

In the stars above

Descends the death

Of change in love

Faster thoughts

And piercing flesh

Ever comes

The prayer of death
